Compulsory health insurance
Compulsory health insurance is implemented according to the principles of social justice and solidarity between the healthy and the ill, the old and the young, the rich and the poor, and the payment of the contribution depends on the source which provides basic social security to the insured person (employment, pension, independent activity, own resources, social aids).
Health insurance in the Republic in Slovenia is compulsory for everyone meeting statutory requirements. It is implemented by the Health Insurance Institute of the Republic of Slovenia.
